John B, Fernando, Rick,
You guys are deep, may I?,
A. Children come from families, what is the American family unit like today? Broken, latchkey kids with televisions for babysitters, now for generations...what art is in the school systems is fading and music is not usually funded but sports is always getting support...does your family practice art/music at home?
B. Profitless trash...how about making money from trash? how about porn? (I guess we should thank that industry for the explosion in internet use though) millions$$$ music, um...someone makes it, or is it all library?
C. Heterogeneous (US) vs Homogeneous (EU) really, spoken like true americans. Europe has its problems with the arts, it just can't be avoided when you walk on a Roman road, to a 15th century palace to view masterworks from collections spanning 2000 years of history.
The U.S. is still a great experiment we have created our history (over many dead bodies literal and figurative)and the film music part of it is being tampered with by forces beyond our control. Art never does well when it is controlled...
