G'day Todd
Happy New Year!
The best way to sell CDs through the digital music avenues is to go through
the expertise of a digital music distributor. The reason to go through this
avenue, is they have the state of the art equipment, they have the
experience and rapport with the digital music stores. When we did our
research in 2004, we were amazed as to what was involved in setting up the
CDs before putting onto the digital music stores. There is a special
format, which includes embedding. There is one thing that you would need to
get is a code for each of your tracks and if you wish I would need a few
days to go back through my research as at the moment we have a bit on our
plates. Admittedly there is the initial set-up fees with the distributor,
like if you were getting your physical CDs, but unlike the physical CDs
there are no other further "manufacturing" costs.
>From our research and experience, we have found that the alternative of
going through a distributor to doing it ourselves there is no comparison.
We don't have the time, the equipment, the finance nor the opportunities to
what a distributor can offer and the one which we go through, their fees are
reasonable and it is great in having the ongoing quarterly payments.
I hope that this is off assistance & may you have a wonderful day.
Kind regards
Ruth Glover

Yup, me again.
Has anyone had experience selling CD's or digital downloads? If so,
would you care to comment, hopefully in such a way that doesn't scare
me off the starting line and send me to dental school. I have a hard
enough time taking care of my own mouth. Ooh wait, maybe I could dig
ditches! No.....flip burgers...fold burritos.......dance on the
corner with one of those "condo for sale" signs.....dunno....

p.s. - forgive my flurry of posts, I'm trying not to get sucked back
into my daily grind before I take some sort of action.
