[Fmpro] ASCAP Sundance Composer Brunch Jan 24

Since many have been asking here, we've got good news - ASCAP is holding
their Sundance Filmmaker/Composer brunch on Jan 24. Here's the invite:

ASCAP's Phil Crosland has assured me that "any ASCAP composers at Sundance
are welcome with an RSVP," despite the text on the invitation that it's only
for "Sundance Filmmakers and their composers". I hope some FMPRO composers
choose to go and benefit from this event.

I remain concerned about the lack of composers at the Music Café
performances, but along with others, I've aired my views on that
sufficiently here.

Also, it's worth noting on the invitation sent to filmmakers the offer that
"ASCAP can help you find the right composer or songwriter for your project".
I think it's fair to ask exactly how they choose which ASCAP members to
recommend to filmmakers - an incredibly valuable referral by any measure...
And is it appropriate for a membership organization whose staff is paid by
all members to only recommend certain members that are "known" by the staff?
