Pete,
For the third time you misquoted me and completely ignored Ed Baker's
correction of your misinterpretation of his post - the part where he
repeatedly confirmed with the ASCAP rep that all songs are paid by default
as features.
And of course, don't forget ASCAP Sr Legal VP Richard Reimer's quote while
you're quoting...
"Mr. Reimer, on behalf of ASCAP, conceded that when ASCAP receives cue
sheets containing the designation ³background vocal² it presumes that such
work contains lyrics and should receive feature credit."
www.ascap.com/reference/boardofreview_meyers.pdf
Which makes me wonder what the point is of selectively quoting Ed Baker and
misquoting myself to try and create the false impression that this ASCAP
policy does not exist.
Reimer's testimony confirms it, and there is no more authoritative source on
this issue than ASCAP's own senior management. Fact.
Can we move on to some new (non-royalties) stuff, I hope?
Best,
Mark Northam
