Hello All,

I'm in the midst of negotiating a fee for doing a theme for a documentary series.  At present it's a pilot, but the concept is strong and I think it will see airtime on History, Discovery, etc.  Of course, the producer has a tiny budget, but wants exclusive rights to the music for all territories, in perpetuity, across all possible seasons.  I will retain both writer's and publishers' royalties, but I want to negotiate points.  

Do any of you have any experience in this?  Any suggestions on a good jumping off point for negotiations, or any additional things I might negotiate for in return for a reduced up-front fee?  As I understand it, a point is 0.01% - do you stipulate net/gross?
