There's also Notion, which isn't really up to the task of professional
orchestrating or copying, but does a much better job than those two at
creating mockups straight from notation. I'm not a user myself, but I'm
told the company is good about incorporating user feedback into new
releases.

Speaking of this, have any EWQLSO-XP users gotten the new version of
Sibelius to utilize the sounds and articulations from EWQLSO-XP? Seems like
there's a market there for some enterprising person to create a part-time
business integrating Sibelius with the major orchestral virtual instruments
and sample libraries. I know I would gladly pay a little to someone that
actually managed to figure all that out.

By the way, I've posted a couple times, but never introduced myself. My
name is Eric Goetz and I'm a beginning composer based in Seattle. I have a
classical music degree (piano and vocal performance), but spent the last few
years playing in rock bands. About a year ago, I decided to start composing
(for some reason, it never occurred to me that I would be good at it -- I
was always at the top of my music theory classes) . I have been studying
film-scoring with Hummie Mann's Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program. I
took a break this year, so that I can score my first feature film -- a
documentary about the descendants of the Holocaust.

It's great to meet you all. I really appreciate everyone sharing insights
into this complex and exciting industry. Once I get my website in order,
I'll link to some samples of my work, for y'all to hear.

Cheers,
Eric
