Claude,
"That's why i think the future of Notation has to go towards a very
good integration between the sound engine and the notation engine."

     I second that vision!

I compose with notation software. Co-writer Billy Hale composes
with midi. Since he has all the $$$ wrapped up it software and
hardware, I do things his way. No Prob. That's his name on the
marquee.

What I can't understand is why midi sounds so funky if more than
one vertical (harmonic) note is assigned to beat on a staff. When
midi encounters a harmony on a single beat in notation, suddenly it
reverts from whatever instrument back to the Casio patch. Sooo, I
have to put each harmonic note on a separate staff. Key1, Key3,
Key5, etc.. and output as midi. Again, No Problem. More staves is
not more work for me... just more rests.

We humans have been drinking Tang in Earth orbit for decades
now. But we can't make a midi freakin' interface that can decode...
simple harmonies? Maybe it's just the Quantum Leap software.
