Seriously though, I have seen turntables (with USB connectors) for about 
$99.  Not sure how good the needles are. I've been wanting to listen to (and 
transfer to digital) some of my 6 foot wall of old albums, too, so this will 
give me a good excuse.  I used to have a variable speed Technics turntable 
back in the day. Any suggestions for turntable purchases in the year 2008? 
I don't think I'll be doing any scratching or beat mixing (but you never 
know... it's northern Minnesota in the winter here ...  think 20 below with 
a 35 below wind chill ... we get a little restless.)
