[Fmpro] More SOCAN

Hi Les-
It doesn't sound snarky to me - it sounds like good advice - I'm just
learning the ropes here. I agree, when I spoke with the agent at SOCAN I
was rather confused when he said I have to advise my PRO that I'm getting
Canadian or international (abroad) airplay. Nobody wants to deal with
little people. The 'system' is very confusing and seems to lack any genuine
non-biased oversight.

Hi Digest people... can you give your posts a heading please ;-)
Hi Robert,
Think about what has been said below........ YOU have to do the work !!!
Why should YOU tell ASCAP............ why don't they know ;-)?
PLEASE......... ASCAP [et al] can't 'collect' overseas, only receive
whatever they are given and if they do not know your music is on
air... how can they 'collect' for you.
C'mon folks............. get the picture here, wake up........ sorry
if this is 'snarky'......... but composers are their own worst enemy.
