I don't think 100k is an elite group ..... If you are working on a  
diverse range of projects and charging your worth it's not out of  
line ( talent is optional) . Having said that I don't think you can  
be in a market that doesn't pay and expect to make $$$$$   ie if  
you're doing local car dealership radio ads in Arizona I don't think  
the opportunities are there.

You need to be where the work is the thinking that you can work  
anywhere with the internet is a misconception. When people pay $$$$$$$ 
$ they expect to be able to see you drop by and work with you and  
know if there is a problem you are in the same ZIP CODE ..... There  
are exceptions but the FACE to FACE is essential to a long term  
working relationship.

When I graduated Berklee I asked a teacher what I should do. He told  
me "Well you're going to starve for a while wherever you are so go  
starve where the work is, move to LA or NYC".
