I'm only a piano teacher. I wish I had time to teach the inner workings of such things, but I don't. Yes, far too many clones out there which is why I particularly loved the St. Sanders stuff that was posted on this forum!

I trust the upper most part of your teaching is the business?
'Anyone' can follow the rules of music  if taught, but connecting the  
$$ dots is the real story..

BTW........ hope you insist your students forget the rules once they  
leave class and do their own thing......... far too many 'Berklee'  
clones out there !!
I say this because when I came to the USA all I heard from gtr  
players were 'Berklee' riffs... yuk
