[Fmpro] AFM dues and other questions

Greetings All,

I've been thinking of joining the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) and
today it was mentioned on list and got me thinking again.  I'm having a
problem because they don't disclose the rates for the dues, which will go up
in the year following my joining.  

Does anyone know the rate of these fees and the advantages to joining the
AFM?  Also, does it matter which Local I choose? - I could go San Francisco
(big city) or Vallejo (little city).  Also, how would joining affect any
current contracts I have in force?  Sorry for so many questions but the AFM
website hasn't answered these questions.
