By the way, does anyone know Williams' concert oeuvre. His concertos,
etc.
Might not be someone's cup tea. What does that prove?
i have a familiarity with some of them. I dislike his violin concerto, I
like his tuba concerto, I don't recall his flute conerto; there was a piece
Stan Kenton conducted for an obscure recording back in the 60s, the name of
which I forget but I vaguely recall enjoying it. His works adapted from film
scores are, in my opinion, pretty good. Incidentally, it could be that
Williams himself conducted the first public concert performance of the Cowboy
overture with the Burbank Symphony back in the day before Jaws and around the time
of Jane Eyre which may also have been on the program.
