I am a very talented Composer. I have a great film score and just need you
to make a film to go with it. I'm sure my music will do great on the
festival circuit (Sundance, etc.) once you provide the finished film. You
must be very talented and hardworking. Only quality script will do. You have
to write, produce, and direct a film worthy of my music, so this means great
script, and excellent production values. Send finished film to me for
consideration. I can't pay you, but maybe we can work out some small
compensation for you after I sell the distribution (and after I recover my
costs). Copy and credit only.

I'm sure that the composer has had a ton of submissions.

Why doesn't the composer put up a listing on Northam's job wire or place an
ad in Daily Variety? Or he can send a message to all the great talent
agencies in town, I'm sure the agents of the filmmakers will have them jumping all
over this.

You may work for free, it doesn't mean anyone else wants to or has to. The
reason so many gigs offer little or no compensation is because there are so
many composers willing to it on that basis. If you don't want to, there will
be 10 who will. it's the market forces: too many composers chasing too few
projects.

Veteran professionals know this to be true.

If you compose it, that doesn't mean they will come.
