In The Basmement Music, LLC, is a music supervision, music library and
publishing company which is currently seeking original music for
upcoming programs on MTV, VH-1 and Fox television. There is no upfront
payment, but you’re entitled to whatever royalties you receive from
BMI/ASCAP/SESAC if your music airs and you’ll also have some amazing
network creds to build up your profile.
Some of the styles we’re looking for include:
• Great hip-hop beat tracks. Any style, vocals and non-vocals.
• Killer rock and alt indie tracks. From angst ridden emo and teen
punk to hard rock and death metal.
• Hard rock/hip hop crossover.
• Cute kitschy-quirky comedic tracks, ie., old school Bugs Bunny.
• Techno, dance/club, anything that can crank up the energy.
• Great acoustic and light rock music that’ll lift you up or make you
cry your eyes out. ie., Colbie Caillat, Norah Jones, Fiona Apple.
• Film score oriented music, orchestral arrangements, dark ambient
music, dramatic underscore, etc. ie., John Willams, Sigur Ros,
Radiohead.
• And anything else not listed here. Jazz, country, latin, reggaeton,
60’s lounge music, etc. We don’t care if it’s hardcore West Coast
techno-polka, if it’s good we wanna hear it.
Submission Guidelines:
• All music submitted must be 100% sample free, original music,
absolutely no exceptions! Any cd’s with samples in it go in the trash.
Nothing personal, but we don't mess with copyright laws.
• All music copyrights for writer’s and publisher’s share must be
fully cleared for use.
• If you’re sending vocal tracks of any style, please include
instrumental versions as well.
• For "R" rated vocals tracks, please include clean versions or we
probably can’t use them.
• Please have hard outs on music tracks (natural endings or ending on
a downbeat). In other words, don’t end the song in the middle of a
note if possible, it drives editors nuts.
• Include all your contact info, email, phone, fax, website (if you
have one), performing rights info if you joined one (ASCAP, BMI,
SESAC) and track names in order, definitely need the track names! And
type it up, the only person who can read your sharpie chicken scratch
is you.
• If possible, send your tracks as aif or wav files on cd or dvd, not
audio cd’s. You can even include artist and track names on the actual
files (ie., 01. DJ Nat – Dirty South.aif).
Please follow the guidelines and send me everything you have that’s
ready for air, we need tons of music so don’t be shy.
Please send all submissions to the address below. No phone calls
please. Thanks for your time, and we look forward to hearing your music!
