This is very true..... after the 10% cap meeting, which Doug Wood
managed to highjack here in LA ** many of us thought Doug to be the
new champion, I even gave him a public hug........ he squirmed ;-)

Let me be clear......... as a human, I like Doug, as a board member
Doug assisted in resolving a very silly situation which caught ASCAP
staff in the analysis dept. with their shorts firmly round their
ankles.... I guess I'm paying the price for that ;-(
I AM VERY GRATEFUL for what dw has done for me, BUT.

He refuses to provide data... e.g. Spot Adjustment Factor...........
are we all clear what this means and how 'YOUR' money is taken away
from Local TV and cable broadcaster payments and put into another pot
for some other reason......... please be honest if you have no
clue............. ASCAP Mem Ser also refuse to provide data, only
acknowledging they 'shift' money from Local TV and Cable to some
other place....... BTW..... MillionS !! ***

In the past I only voted for Doug.

Doug, along with the entire ASCAP Board supports, endorses and
oversees the MO at ASCAP.
This includes weightings, SAF, Tv Premium[s], surveys and of-course
[and I say this lightly] insures some people are not paid.

Why would any member vote for any of the current board members who
uphold the removal of money from a members pocket [no real explanation
[s]] and in many cases no payment for music aired.
Why would anyone do this?

[PLEASE obtain the mp3 from me which proves the broadcasters of local
TV pay at 1-1 .. not one request so far, which is very VERY telling !!!!

Doug has made it very clear he wont vote for 1-1 [yet just a few
short years ago the CEO told me this was what he wanted]...........
given this is how the broadcasters pay 1-1, why wouldn't any
supporter of instrumental music not want distribution as per income?

What has DW or any other board member done to improve the lot of the
instrumental composer?.... did I hear 'a hike from 16% to 20%'....
yep, someone did that, but other music is given a 1/3rd premium while
all song is now paid at feature.... hmmmmm a 4% hike at the cost of
what exactly?

BTW.. anyone figured out how the credit value is >>really <<
calculated ?
Think about the fact apples and oranges go into the basket [radio/tv/
cable] and the mathematics is then applied....... who might win ;-) ?

Time to put feet to fire.

** Did an ASCAP employee go to the Library companies with an open
check book to keep them in the fold since at the 10% cap meeting they
voiced an opinion to withdraw their catalogs????????????????????????????

*** I have yet to ask Mem Ser, but I wonder, if an ASCASP staff
member saw a 30+% deduction from their salary, knowing the money to
be paid to another staff member,... do you think they would be ok
with that ;-) ?
