[Fmpro] FMPRO Digest, Vol 38, Issue 21 -- Unionizing Composers

I have been wearing a cilice like Opus Dei in preparation for pain haha

Truth is I don't really care. I live my life as honestly and as true
to my definition of being an artist as I can. I try and work on my art
and craft outside of money every day. I strive to keep meaningful
employment writing music also. For the sake of the business I might
kiss a little ass now and then but I will never go slobby bobbin on
the hobby knob. I try and always call it as I see it and I try and be
ok with having my opinion changed when I learn new things, even tho
that sometimes takes a little time. But through it all I really try
and keep my sights on truth. Understanding the underlying truth is,
after all, the very center of being a composer. We take in all kinds
of stimuli - words, thoughts, emotion, pictures, color, concepts,
history, etc etc etc - and we sift through our souls and the music to
find the truth.

Well whatever with all that I am not a union organizer and I am not
running for any office, but I won't sit around and listen to tales of
injustice (my own included) and not try and do something about it. I
think we are close on a few ideas and I hope the ideas will *flesh*
out and the world might be a little better of a place, for all of us
here - time will tell
