[Fmpro] mobile/laptop studio suggestions?

Hi all,

  Anyone had experience using a laptop running, for example, Digital  
Performer and a bunch of virtual instruments, and mixing with Waves  
and Altiverb? I understand that the new Macbook Pro laptops should do  
the job. They have dual 2.5 to 2.6 Mhz processors, up to 4 gigs ram.  
Or is less computing power reasonable?

Any suggestions for keyboard controllers and audio interfaces? Small  
monitors that would be potentially dependable for mixing? I know  
stitching to unfamiliar monitors is a little scary, but still I'd  
like to hear suggestions for smaller, travel-friendly options. I was  
considering hauling my Mackie HR-824's. I've been using Genelec 8050- 
A's for a couple of years now.
