[Fmpro] public archives?

Hi Susan -

They have been that way for some time. Since the list is an open list that
is open to the general public with no requirements for subscribing, it made
sense to have the archives have similar access. Having public archives is
also a great way of helping people discover the FMPRO list and become
members should they choose to, and it makes the list a far more valuable
educational tool as people can gather information from historical posts
rather than ask the same questions again and again.

I know there may be those who believe the archives should be private, and I
can understand why some people may want that. But looking at the big picture
of things, I believe the benefits to the industry and the list outweigh
whatever perceived sense of privacy there may be here - which is more a
perception than a reality since the list is open to the general public
without any conditions, requirements, etc.

I hope this helps explain our thinking on this - as always we're open to any
ideas, thoughts, comments, etc.

Best,

Mark Northam
