Thanks Les.  Well, after Edward Schearmur bought him a nice place
in the Hollywood and Rachel Portman's opera premiered in Texas
I thought it was fair game to look out over the ocean ;-)  

MCPS rates???? I'll have to google that - thanks for the heads up - 
I was thinking of asking enough to use a piano trio or quartet for the
score, plus something for my "new air conditioner" fund before the 
summer starts again here in the valley.   I bet Schearmur's place
has sweet air conditioning.  

It's hard for me to find movies i like here in LA.  I prefer period drama or
movies using beautiful outdoor or pretty architectural settings as that
works with my "classical" ways of writing.  Seems like here in LA it's 
just the same movie ideas over and over - down on their luck cops, teen
house party, teen horror house party, man resorts to alcohol and drugs
when something goes wrong in his life, man relies on drugs to get through
the day, people kill people for drugs, people kill people for whatever reason.
