[Fmpro] question about submitdirect

Mark: (or please forward to whomever)

Is filmmusicnet still emailing the composer when a client has listened to a
song via submitdirect? I've noticed a number of submissions didn't not
trigger an email to me. I assume that no-one has listened to them. I realize
that too many submissions could create a situation where a client doesn't have
time to listen - I do understand, & I don't know how many submissions are
average. On the other hand, if I am submitting songs with no hope of the client
ever listening to them, I might be discouraged to submit (in any quantity,
anyway.) I do try to submit as fast as possible, but that is not always possible.

If there is a situation developing where realistically a client is not going
to listen to all of the submissions (or most of them), maybe FMN should ask
the client the realistic # of songs they do have time for, and then limit the
submissions (if they don't find one, they can relist the pitch). I realize this
reduces the $$ to FMN, but that is really not the point. I pay a lot more
to TAXI annually and per submission (although they do listen to every
submission as screeners and gatekeepers), so comparatively, FMN is a deal. If FMN
were to explain to the composers that the limitation of submissions meant that
those would did submit had a better chance of getting listened to, we, as
composers would be OK with that, and would feel we might be wasting $$. FMN seems
to present itself as a champion of the independent composer (I agree).
Anyway FMN can prove that it is doing the fairest thing with submission will be
welcomed, I am sure. I guess after submitting as many as I do (a few a week,
sometimes many), I want to make my $$ go as far as possible, especially in a
tight economy.

Thanks for the service, and I hope everything is going well, otherwise,
