[Fmpro] FMPRO Digest, Vol 37, Issue 4

Brad, you make some good points (so you should probably be less quiet). I
still believe it was not necessary for Pete to drag the forum into a
beer-stink seedy saloon. Maybe Marinho gave us a bit of the "High School
drama queen bitch-out", but without foul language nor name calling. There is
a difference. As for Les leaving, I don't think anybody here has anything to
apologize for (except maybe Pete > Marinho). Les is a solid guy, but I have
seen the exact same thing happen at a Euro-cult soundtrack collectors board
I used to co-moderate. There was a particular member who was very respected
and a well-known expert, this guy teaches University classes and wrote the
first English language book examining the spaghetti western genre. The day
finally arrived when certain opinions were expressed contrary to his, and
arguments put directly to him, and he didn't like it so he left. Few of us
liked to see him go, but it had an air of inevitability to it - seemed like
he was gonna get pissed enough to split sooner or later no matter what. To
stick with these forums one has to be very diplomatic and tolerant - there
are a lot of people here, and from all over the world. These boards aren't
always safe havens, nor are they private little get-togethers with a few old
friends, and the shit will occasionally hit the fan (Pete's "fuck yourself"
for example) and the group will occasionally get stuck good 'n ugly on one
point of contention (what Marinho obvious got very sick of). To stay the
course there is only one method: deal with it. - JohnB
