[Fmpro] Composer's sidelife out of film

Personally, I think it is increasingly important that composers
approach the business as broadly as possible. We just talked
about "downtime" and the nutty steps that we all go through
during these stressful periods.
In addition to composing, I record people in my private studio,
write & co-write songs/arrangements for singer-sonrwriters (amateur
and pro alike - some amateurs are far better at their craft than so called
"pro's"), do jingles, teach little fingers how to play, etc...
but, I don't necessarily see how that would be "more attractive" to someone
who writes all day every day other than it makes you perhaps fresher -with
better/different perspective -and maybe less cabin crazy ?
I'll ad golf to the list of extra-curricular activities. Where else can you hold
a director/producer/music supervisor captive for 4-5 hours ?
