Alain,
I enjoyed your music a lot. Actually, you made my morning, by just
listening to some of it. You are obviously very skilled and experienced and
you have a unique style that sounds distinct from much of the mindless stuff
coming out of Hollywood these days (I mean this in the best possible of
ways).
Here's my 2 cents on the credits section of your website. Take it with a
grain of salt, because you're further along than me.
First of all, on first glance, it's not very clear that these are credits
from actual films that you've worked on. It's made worse by the fact that
the first piece you have listed is "3 demo pieces". There are a folks out
there that sit home with a keyboard and a computer every night and write a
lot of music, but have had a lot of real world experience. As someone who
has worked on a number of films and written a lot for live musicians, you
have an opportunity here to really distinguish yourself from the masses.
Perhaps putting a "directed by ...." after the title may help make it more
clear to the casual viewer that only spends 5 seconds looking at this page.
To make it even more clear, maybe try putting a thumbnail scan of the movie
poster (not sure about copyrights, here).
I like how you talked about the music, but I thought the prose was a little
too music-centric, for at least some of the films, that I read about.
Consider really coming more from the point of view of the director or music
editor. What was the role of the music in the scene (I noticed you do this
a little). Where was the film screened? When? Links to IMDB pages
(assuming they exist).
Best of luck! I hope my feedback is helpful.
Eric
