Hi, Alain,
I visited your film music page and have a few suggestions.
1) Music buyers (directors, music supers, etc) are very busy people and need
to access essential info quickly. With that in mind, I'd rearrange your
credits page so it lists in each line the project title, the director/producer
and the name of the production company/movie studio.
ex: "Fabulous Movie" "Alan Smithee, Director"
"Risk-taker Productions or Global Studios"
While a composer's thoughts about a project can be interesting, that info
should be the expandable part of the page, in case someone actually has that
extra time to read it.
2) Only list items that actually came to fruition. Music buyers want to see
Real film credits - not be confused by hearing about demos you sent for
consideration for projects. If you want to place those demos on your samples page,
that's different/ok - because there you're displaying all possible examples
of your music.
3) Separate your credits on the page by category. Put "feature films" first
at the top, then the "short films", "documentaries" etc. Music buyers
want/expect to see feature credits first - other categories are considered "less
impressive." When you go through each category, think about which film has the
most well known director or production company or which film won an award and
list those films first. Music buyers are looking for "name recognition" when
they view your credits. They want to see with/for whom you've worked. Seeing
a "name" they know or have at least heard of before, gives them a sense of
"assurance" that you're respected by those "names" and know what you're doing.
Yes, I know all this may seem silly - it's name-dropping to the max but
"Welcome to Hollywood." HA!
4) On your credits page, it's helpful to offer a .pdf file of your credits
for download in case they don't have time to read them now or need to pass them
on to someone else.
5) You might consider changing the name of your "Quotes" page to "Referrals"
or "Testamonials" as those words more specifically describe that page's
content.
Keep up the good work with your music and your website. Stay creative!
