I hope you aren't referring to me Brian. My vanity tells me you are
referring to the composers forum post with the bill of rights outline.
If that is what you are referring to I will tell you now that yep I
don't know lots about the issues and I am learning more every day, but
that everything I work on I consult with and defer to Mark Northam and
consider his knowledge of the issues to be the driver. I am merely
trying to take his knowledge and use my in-depth knowledge of other
things to make strides forward. That bill of rights was written by
Mark and I just copied and pasted and pointed to it a lot. And I think
the points on the bill he wrote are good and solid and very accurate,
though there are some small issues to work out, we are working on them
every day right now to get the full message that we want to deliver
polished and ready for public consumption.

So while I might not be the guy to go to court or congress and
represent composers and discuss these issues as the de-facto expert on
them, I sure can help get the word out and try some ways of change
that have never been tried before. Its a new age and with every new
age there are new opportunities for underdogs to use the change to
their advantage and gain some strength. I am not going to discuss what
all those ideas I have are quite yet, but I will say that I am working
every day many hours building stuff that might help us all and it will
be revealed soon to everyone here for your discussion and I hope
participation.

You see, all the elucidation (or castigation, which is what a comment
like this comes down to) in the universe amounts to nothing if no
action is taken. There may have been action in the past but for the 3
years I have been on this list I have seen nothing from any person on
this list that actually moves the cause forward beyond the bringing of
issues of our business to light. Of course public awareness of the
issues is the first step towards change, and without hearing about the
issues, and regularly, as there are new members to the community all
the time who are not aware of the issues, we cannot create anything.
And the list in itself has been a tremendous resource of information.
But lets now take the knowledge of the past and the opportunity of the
present and really give it a go. ;-)
